Ragarashmi is a non profit organisation run by a collective of independent artists, performers, educators and social entrepreneurs.
FOR ARTISTS IN NEED
This collective has come together to support artists and arts education – prioritising young girls and women who live too far away from opportunities to learn and practice music and art.
Our founders are award-winning artists with curations and collaborations across the globe. We curate and organise international cultural exchange programs that create exposure for youth and women.
We curate unique collaborative projects between artists from diverse backgrounds. Our pioneering projects have brought together young women folk singers from remote tribal regions in Karnataka (India) with established Indian and European folk artists.
We collaborate with cultural organisations, state and government departments and international agencies – working to bring gender equity among subaltern artists and youth.
To clear a path for subaltern artists and help them overcome socio-regional barriers that separate them from having access to the art and music industry ecosystems.
The most immediate need identified by the collective is the creation of reasonable livelihood for artists through scholastic engagement, allowing arts education to improve and artists to live with independence and dignity.
